Should the city of Pripyat be saved?:

Radioactivity dynamics

This page contains gathered information upon ambient ɣ-radioactivity levels at Chernobyl NPP, control points of the Zone of Alienation (cities of Pripyat and Chernobyl, Dityatki checkpoint) and in the cities outside of the Zone — Kiev (Ukraine), Moscow (Russian Federation), Vienna (Austria), and Detroit (Michigan, USA).

All the data is in microRoengens per hour.

According to radiation safety standards, the normal levels for areas outside the Chernobyl zone are OK up to 30 micro-roentgen per hour, inclusive. Small fluctuations of the radiation background is a natural process.

The data typically updated twice a week based on ChNPP reports and dozemetric data from our team.
